Gene Winston Minton


Mr. Minton is a 1975 graduate of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. He is a founding member of the Association of Community Pharmacists and has served ACP’s Chairman and Vice Chairman. In 2007, Mr. Minton received the Bowl of Hygeia award for Community Service to Pharmacy. He maintains membership in the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists and operates three pharmacies in Northeastern North Carolina, which offer full service pharmacy, durable medical equipment, and respiratory care services.

Mr. Minton is active in many national, state, and local political organizations, and has served as a Commissioner and past chairman for Halifax County, as well as mayor and city councilman for Roanoke Rapids.  He has served on the Board of Directors of the Halifax County Convention and Visitors Bureau since 2005 and became chairman in 2010.

Mr. Minton and his wife Sybil live at Lake Gaston and have two children, Jeanie and Jenna, who are both pharmacists, and one grandson.
