Frequently Asked Questions for Pharmacists on License Renewal

 

Q:  What are the CE requirements for Pharmacists?

A:  All Pharmacists are required to have, at minimum, a total of 15 hours to renew every year.  Eight (8) of those hours have to be LIVE hours and the remainder hours can be either Live or Correspondence.

Q:  I can’t log in -- the system will not take my license number.  What do I do?

A:  All license numbers are 5 digits.  You might need to enter a zero as your first digit.

Q:  Do I need a business address listed to renew my Pharmacist License?

A:  You will be blocked from renewing if your employment lists you as UNKNOWN or is blank. If you are currently listed as unemployed, you will be allowed to renew.

Q:  My business address is listed as “UNKNOWN” and the program won’t let me renew -- what do I do?

A:  Please fill out the PHARMACIST CHANGE OF EMPLOYMENT / BUSINESS ADDRESS NOTIFICATION FORM (found here) and submit it in to Missy Betz via fax, email, or mail.  Please allow 3-5 business days for processing.

Q:  My business address is wrong on my renewal.  How do I change it and do I have to wait for it to be updated before I renew?

A:  Please fill out the PHARMACIST CHANGE OF EMPLOYMENT / BUSINESS ADDRESS NOTIFICATION FORM (found here) and submit it in to Missy Betz via fax, email, or mail.  Please allow 3-5 business days for processing.  No, it does not have to be updated before you renew.

Q:  The program won’t let me renew because I have a PO Box as my residential mailing address.  What do I do?

A:  You are required to have a physical address in order to renew.  To update your home address, LOG IN through our website and click UPDATE.

Q:  I’m retired, how do I inform the Board of my status?

A:  Please submit the PHARMACIST CHANGE OF EMPLOYMENT / BUSINESS ADDRESS NOTIFICATION FORM (found here) and choose “Retired” in the New Employer Section.  You should allow 3-5 business days for processing.

Q:  I’m unemployed, how do I inform the Board of my status?

A:  Please submit the PHARMACIST CHANGE OF EMPLOYMENT / BUSINESS ADDRESS NOTIFICATION FORM (found here) and choose “Unemployed” in the New Employer Section.  You should allow 3-5 business days for processing.

Q:  Is there a grace period for renewal and earning CE?

A:  Yes, the Board allows a 60 day grace period after the December 31st deadline.  You may continue to earn CE for your renewal and renew during that time with no penalty.

Q:  If my CE certificate says that my hours are CONTACT hours, does that mean the hours will be considered LIVE?

A:  Not necessarily, check your ACPE number.  All LIVE hours are denoted by an “L” in the ACPE number.

Q:  How do I delete a course that I entered incorrectly?

A:  Click the red “X” to delete a course.
