Wallace E. Nelson


Wallace is a graduate of UNC School of Pharmacy and lives in Hertford with his wife, a teacher, and two children. He has practiced in both hospital and retail pharmacy and is currently Director of Chowan Hospital Pharmacy in Edenton and Bertie Memorial Hospital Pharmacy in Windsor. In addition, Wallace practices part-time with several retail pharmacies. He holds or has held memberships in NCSHP, ASHP, ASCP, NCAP, and has been a member of the Board of Directors of NCSHP and President of the Northeast Pharmaceutical Society.

In addition to his activities in pharmacy, Wallace serves on the Perquimans County Board of Commissioners and previously served on the Perquimans County Board of Education. Wallace was appointed by Governor Martin to the Governor’s Council on Alcohol and other Drug Abuse and to the Institute on Alcohol and Other Drug Studies Board of Directors. He served on the Legislative Study Commission that drafted the Adolescent Substance Abuse Plan for North Carolina. He has also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the College of Albemarle being appointed to that Board by Governors Martin and Hunt and served as its Chairman.
